Mission Statement
To increase participation of 14 to 36 year old residents of Greater New Haven in the Democratic Party for all levels. The Young Democrats will work to create effective policies that impact our targeted constituent base. We will work to create and develop a new generation of leaders. We will hold elected officials accountable for promises and work with them to address issues. We will bring true representation and leadership to the Greater New Haven region.

Mission of GNHYD-Political Action Committee
To fund all activities of the Greater New Haven Young Democrats. To seek, develop and fund younger democrats who are independent thinkers, who are motivated by principles and life convictions and not party politics. Encourage minority participation emphasis on African Americans and Latinos. Funding candidates a minimum requirement is to be between the ages of 18 and 35 years of age and meet the standards f the GNHYD-PAC.

Objectives

Register younger voters through voter education
Create minority voting blocks.
Sponsor political debates.
Create Young Democrat policy agenda for state and local areas.
Support young democratic candidates.
Redefine the political and democratic agenda.
Update members on relevant community activities.
Building awareness of issues affecting our nation, state, and local community.
Help increase membership in the Democratic Party and the number of registered voters.
Increase grassroots activism and community service.
Participate in campaigns to elect democratic candidates.
Build alliances with social and political groups.
Provide leadership development and career opportunities for GNHYD constituent base.
